Sparta in Feb

ACTN8717
The Spartans started off February with a tough tournament in Ft. Macleod. Although the team was unable to win a game the competition was good and the Spartans showed they could hold their own against a AA team. The Spartans then met a determined High Country team looking to revenge an earlier loss and hold on to a Provincial tournament spot. The Spartans were equal to the task and held on for a 3-3 tie, claimed the Zone 5 Championship and the berth for the Provincial tournament in Sexsmith.

The Spartans then rounded out league play with a loss to Medicine Hat and a win against the Lethbridge Blazers. The Spartans therefore finish the Spud league regular season with a 12-4-0 record and clinch first place in the division.
